( It's different, in that way, isn't it? He'll stubbornly insist as much, even if it means getting called like a dog's bark. )
No changes.
( 100% human, anyway. And he doesn't feel the need to mention succumbence, to mention tethers, to mention any of that. Instead, he's busy staring incredulously at the cat that's clinging to his arm right now, like a child that doesn't want to be dropped off at school. Oddly, it's really... endearing...
But he only thinks that for a minute before scowling, reaching to try and grab it by the soupy scruff and tug. )

I see. [ another small tug towards the cat, and the body relaxes, and the shadows ooze off the side of its body. this action isn't out of dislike, but agent grapes feels like there's more to it. his connection to this feline has been haze, he's been worried about too many things to focus properly so this is where it leads to.
releasing his hands, and guren's grip is replaced, the cat becomes more difficult, and more concrete where its using its heaviness to prevent being pulled by him either. big, unblinking eyes look to guren as though if it blinks at least once he'll be gone. the only conclusion agent grapes can make is that the cat wants him, but there has to be other ways.

Would you want something to remember him by?
[ the cat's ear twitches and those big eyes only grow wider. ]
( That's not your name, is what he wants to argue, but he bites his tongue, for the time being. He's busy, besides, watching the way this cat resists even its original "owner" pulling it back. And why is that?
He looks down sternly, at the cat, but he's met with the biggest saucer eyes he's ever seen in his life. And even if his expression doesn't falter, he ends up staring for a good, long moment, in quiet silence... )
What the hell do you mean by that, huh? Don't just offer things without consulting me!
( So he says, but... He's moving a now-free hand to scrub at the cat's chin. There, there, soupy creature. )
[ how is agent choi a name and not agent grapes... they both start with agent! one of the many seven mysteries of somnia. ]
It's a reasonable suggestion to make.
[ this may not be guren's cat, but it's a cat that's taken interest in guren regardless. it's plenty smart, the creature familiar with the idea of having something and appears more willing to do as they want if so.
at this point, agent grapes doesn't attempt to pull anymore. instead, he allows the cat to stay, and the creature leans into guren's touch, shadow-y sludge dripping from the tip of a bent tail in pleasure. it manages a purr, a little condensed in noise, but guren can feel the creature vibrate on his arm. ]
Considering you've been feeding it attention so far.
( He doesn't have an argument for that, and certainly not while the thing is purring up a cute little storm on his arm. A few more little scrubs, and he sighs, opening his palm to allow it to rub its head into him further. )
Kind of hard to ignore when it's chewing on my shadow. ( That's his excuse and he's sticking to it. But... ) I don't really have any personal belongings, so what am I supposed to give it?

[ what's worse to say, hair? there's a possibility the other doesn't know their abilities or has even tried them. it'd be dangerous to ask for that, but it's one thing he can think of because obviously this one manifested without soleum even calling for the cat. there's a chance guren could have been the same. ]
A piece of your clothing. I don't think it's picky...
[ from the look of the cat that melts happily onto guren, it really does appear like it would be happy with anything.
( Not the full truth, but it's all that needs to be said. What little he's discovered of his runecasting seems very familiar to the sort of magic he's used to from home. Spell tags, for example. Which wouldn't be very helpful for a gift, unless the cat wanted some slip of littered paper turned into a makeshift bomb.
Instead, he considers both it and Soleum for a moment before carefully working to keep the cat balanced against one arm as he reaches into his jacket pocket. There, he pulls out one of his gloves. It used to be white, but it's covered with a number of stains already, including blood. )
Kind of a shitty gift, so let's see how picky it is. ( And with another nudge to balance it back out, he holds the cat in one arm and offers the glove towards its face with the other, quietly curious. Want... a hand??? )
You still have a human form, which means your abilities are there but subtle.
[ everything that happened underground means that his attention on others has been very little, so he wouldn't know what he can do. though, the cat is the one who's devoured the boy's shadow, and while that has gone from it to soleum, he can't help but feel a twist in his stomach as the cat wrinkles his nose at the glove.
soleum stands with his arms crossed watching this play out. his own thoughts are like this: a glove is a suitable gift, take it, but what are the chances that it starts to lose its smell? the stains dry? he grows out of the shape of it? when he can think of the many pros and cons, the feline decides to rest the side of its face against the back of guren's hand.
a wet, shadowy tail curls from it's desire to be close to him and wrap around his arm. it yearns to be closer, to melt into the skin. to devour. a strong feeling of something that soleum lacks, and he has to take a deep breath to separate himself from the cat that has started to be picky. the more the feline rubs its cheek on the back of guren's hand, the more there's friction and warmth builds up in that place, drastically different from the bites that were so cold they stung. ]
You could explain what makes it special. It's adamant, possibly thinking "why should i choose a glove over you?"
[ on cue, the cat looks up at guren with upturned corners of their mouth to make a comical, playful expression of what would remind someone of a smug cat face sent through text. its whiskers rest comfortably above a gentle smile, the tips of them bubble, pop then drizzle down like paint at the end of a brush. ]
